After offering an Army of the Dead to Netflix, Zack Snyder is back with a Space Opera to release on the streaming service. Titled Rebel Moon, the film will be released in two different parts on Netflix. While the first part, Rebel Moon: A Child With Fire, will be released on December 22, the second part, Rebel Moon: The Scaregiver, will stream on April 19, 2024.
To reveal what the Space Opera has in store, Netflix released the first Rebel Moon trailer of Child With Fire on Wednesday. The film stars The Mummy actress Sofia Boutella as the main protagonist, Kora.

Rebel Moon: A Child With Fire follows the story of a peaceful colony on the edge of a galaxy threatened by the armies of a tyrannical ruling force, Regent Balisarius. Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival.
She seeks warriors’ help from the neighborhood to fight against the terrifying attacks by Regent Balisarius. While some warriors are outsiders and insurgents, some of them are peasants and orphans of war from different worlds who share a common need for redemption and revenge.
As the shadow of an entire Realm bears down on the unlikeliest of moons, a battle over the fate of a galaxy is waged, and in the process, a new army of heroes is formed.

Rebel Moon cast a bunch of talents to brace the film, which includes Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman, Anthony Hopkins, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, Fra Fee, and E. Duffy in significant roles.
The film is directed by Zack Snyder, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kurt Johnstad and Shay Hatten for a story Snyder created.
Rebel Moon is banked by Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller, Eric Newman, and Zack Snyder. The Budget for the space opera has reached $166 million, which may increase during the film’s marketing.
The music experienced in the Rebel Moon trailer is given by Tom Holkenborg, who previously had given music in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Army of the Dead as well as in 300: Rise of an Empire.
Netflix has scheduled Rebel Moon’s release date for December 22 with an extended R-rated cut. The second part of the space opera will hit the streaming service on April 19, 2024.
