The video clip of the Ghostbusters Afterlife sequel teased at the CinemaCon event saw McKenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, and Paul Rudd donning the Ghostbusters suit only to share a living at New York’s Ghostbuster firehouse.
As Jason Reitman unveiled the new footage of the untitled Ghostbusters Afterlife sequel, fans were quick to predict that Reitman is back at his directing duties. Ghostbusters Afterlife Sequel sees the return of various Ghostbusters characters, including Finn Wolfhard as Trevor Spengler, Paul Rudd as Gary Grooberson, Logan Kim as Podcast, Ernie Hudson as Dr. Winston Zeddemore, Celeste O’Connor as Lucky Domingo, William Atherton as Walter Peck and Mckenna Grace as Phoebe Spengler.
While no official information on other returning members is confirmed yet, Ernie Hudson, who plays Dr. Winston Zeddemore, revealed that the Ghostbusters Afterlife sequel would also have Danny Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Annie Potts in their reprising roles. Ernie looked excited, stating about the trio’s return in an interview with The Film Collective.
Meanwhile, new actors cast in the Afterlife sequel are Kumail Nanjiani, James Acaster, Patton Oswalt, and Emily Alyn Lind. While their roles are not disclosed yet, fans are way more excited to know what twist this addition brings to the Ghostbuster story.

So far, all the Ghostbusters movies have had their theatrical release. However, post the theatrical release, the supernatural comedy film might make it to Netflix, considering that Sony and Netflix already have a partnership under which the production house has streamed its content on the streaming giant the past year. This included the Bullet Train and The Woman King. But the Afterlife sequel is not the only one to which the Ghostbuster universe and Sony and Netflix’s partnership are limited.
