Dwayne Johnson Blames Vortex of New Leadership Over Black Adam 2 Cancellation! – Popgeek

In a recent interview with his Central Intelligence co-star Kevin Hart, The Black Adam actor Dwayne Johnson revealed the truth behind the cancellation of Black Adam’s second part. Dwayne Johnson, who ruled the audience’s hearts by appearing as Black Adam the previous year, is a little disappointed with his film’s sequel cancellation.

Released in 2022, Black Adam documented the story of an ancient superhuman who, upon release from imprisonment, decides to unclose his version of justice to the world. The film scored $393.3 million at the Global Box Offices and simultaneously received positive reviews from audiences worldwide.

And, while the Black Adam keenly waited for the film’s sequel, Dwayne Johnson’s revelation about the character’s departure shocked them profoundly. Hinting at the reason behind the move, Dwayne gave the following insights.

In a Hart to Heart interview released on Peacock, when host Kevin Hart asked the reason why his Black Adam sequel was canceled despite its’ great success, the actor replied it’s the vortex of leadership, production delays, and creative differences that resulted in the discontinuation of his superhero film and his character’s departure.

Further briefing on the matter, Dwayne Johnson said- ‘’I think that Black Adam gets caught in the vortex of leadership and at that time as we were creating Black Adam, developing it, shooting Black Adam, a little bit because of CoViD-19 and the shutdowns got back up.

There were so many changes in leadership. And anytime you know you have a company but specifically that size and magnitude, that’s a publicly traded company, and you have all those changes in leadership.

You have people coming in who creatively, and fiscally are going to make decisions that you may not agree with. So, I think Black Adam was one of those movies that got caught in that web of new leadership,’’ he concluded.

On the one hand, where Dwayne Johnson’s statements clearly signified that it’s DC’s recent change in leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran taking the reign which axed his franchise’s future, the other side, in a social media platform, Dwayne also reported earlier that even after the DC reboot, there’s still hope for his superhero character.

On his social media account, Dwayne spoke about a conversation he had with James in which the CEO of DC Studios assured the actor that despite his million-dollar franchise now closed, his character never will, and the studios will find the best valuable way to bring back Adam in the future DC movies, excluding the one coming out the in phase 1 of the rebooted DC universe.

However, it was the month of December when Dwayne revealed his conversation with Gunn, and eight months after, when he spilled more beans about his character’s departure, it’s pretty uncertain whether Black Adam will ever have any appearance in any of the franchise’s films.
