James Gunn Confirms David Corenswet as DC’s New Superman! More Deets Inside!

After a prolonged wait, the DC’s new co-heads, James Gunn and Peter Safran, have finally got their leads for Superman: Legacy. According to James Gunn’s official statement on Twitter, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan will essay the role of the new Superman, Clark Kent, and Lois Lane, respectively.

For the unversed, Rachel Brosnahan and David Corenswet are quite familiar faces in Hollywood. Rachel Brosnahan is popular for winning a Prime-Time Emmy Award and two consecutive Golden Globes for her lead role in The Marvelous Mrs. Marvel. She has also participated in various prominent projects, including The Unborn, her debut project, Finest Hours, and more.

Meanwhile, speaking about the most hyped name David Corenswet, the new Superman actor, has been a part of quite known projects. This shall include the Ryan Murphy series The Politician and Hollywood, the HBO series We Own This City, and films including Pearl, where David’s character was brutally killed by the end.

Although that’s only 10% of what we disclose about the new Superman leads, we are still far from their previous works and predictions of their future in DC’s Extended Universe.

Stay here to catch all the gossip!

Who is David Corenswet, and How Did He Receive Superman’s Role?

James Gunn’s revealing David Corenswet as DC’s new Superman has overwhelmed fans worldwide. The announcement has led fans to go head over heels to explore more about his character in DCEU. David Corenswet, who is 29 years old today, grabbed his dream role leaving his fellow competitors dusted.

David Corenswet was born to lawyer parents in the U.S. city of Philadelphia. He is the first American-Born actor to have grabbed a Superman role in DC’s Extended Universe.

As a child artist, David began acting in various theatre dramas. One of the theatre companies the new Superman actor has worked with is Arden Theatre Company which allowed Corenswet to polish his acting skills through stage skits. David has completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from Juilliard School in New York City.

While David is not lucky enough to receive global recognition for his former appearances, you can still catch up on his good work in House of Cards, Elementary, and much more.

Speaking about David’s selection for Superman, so like I said, David has received Superman after leaving his competitors behind. A report from Collider suggests that apart from David Corenswet, Jacob Elordi, Tom Brittney, Nicholas Hoult, and Andrew Richardson were also in the line for the Superman suit, but eventually, it was David who was finalized to step in Superman’s Shoes.

And what’s juicier about David is that the American actor is also one of the youngest to grab a Superman role in DC. When DC signed up Henry Cavil for his Man of Steel role, the British actor was 30 years old in 2013. He undoubtedly essayed the best Superman onscreen and was rightly accepted by the audience for delivering jaw-dropping action sequences and flawless dialogues.

If we predict anything about Corenswet’s future in DC, the actor in an interview described Superman as his dream role. He thanked DC’s new heads, James Gunn and Peter Safran, for believing in him for Superman. However, he swore to secrecy to share anything about Superman’s future in DCEU. If fate favors and Superman makes a blockbuster worldwide, we can hope to see David Corenswet continuing his new Superman role in DECU ahead.

Who is Rachel Brosnahan? How Did She Get Lois Lane’s Role in Superman: Legacy?

Rachel Brosnahan is an American actor like his Superman: Legacy co-star David Corenswet. In the DCEU’s upcoming Superman flick, The Marvelous Mrs. Marvel star plays the role of Lois Lane, an ace reporter in a male-dominated industry.

Rachel Brosnahan made her film debut with The Unborn and later appeared in Beautiful Creatures, Finest Hours, and many more big-screen projects. While none of her initial film work drew the spotlight on her, it was The Marvelous Mrs. Marvel series, because of which Rachel became a known actor in Hollywood. Rachel played the role of an aspiring stand-up comedian in the Prime Video series and won a Prime-Time Emmy and two consecutive Golden Globes for the same.

Her selection for DCEU’s Lois Lane attributes to her award-winning role in the series itself, for which she garnered positive responses from audiences worldwide.

Jumping back to her DCEU role of Lois Lane, The Unborn star is also tight-lipped about her character’s future in DC. As soon as we have any updates on it, we will ensure to keep you in the loop as well.

For now, we know Lois Lane is one of the prime journalists in The Daily Planet’s publication. She is also the girlfriend of Superman, AKA Clark Kent, who in future Superman films (if any arrives) will also play the superhero’s wife.

Before Rachel Brosnahan, actresses like Kate Bosworth and Teri Hetcher played the role of Lois Lane in previous Superman films and television series. Now that Rachel Brosnahan is up for Lois Lane, it will be interesting to see how she serves justice to one of the most prominent characters of the DC universe.
